The 1661 Inn offers magnificent ocean view rooms featuring a combination of decks, televisions, whirlpool tubs or fireplaces. The 1661 offers a few other places to stay off the main property; Anchor House, Dewey Cottage, Dodge Cottage, Narragansett Inn and the Hendrickson House. The Atlantic Inn’s twenty-one guest rooms, all individually furnished with antiques, await your arrival. Each guest room has a private bath, located on either the second or third floor of the Inn. Restaurant and Bar: Ballard’s not only offers a distinctive menu of exceptionally fresh seafood, but also an incredible view of Ballard’s Beach. Founded in 1997 when a group of summer and year-round residents came together to save Smuggler's Cove from a developer, the mission of the Block Island Maritime Institute (BIMI) is to provide and foster educational programs and maritime activities including marine science and maritime heritage for residents and visitors on Block Island. Located on Ocean Avenue in New Harbor, and on the Great Salt Pond, BIMI offers maritime-related programs for children and adults, including harbor tours and guest lecturers. Dining Enjoy the newly designed Victorian landmark, hosting contemporary craft cocktails, fresh seasonal cuisine and unparalleled service. The Manisses Bar and Bistro serves; a café breakfast, Sunday brunch in our prosecco garden, daily raw bar and cocktail specials along with an alfresco dining experience from Mid May through September. The Narragansett Inn is situated on a small hill overlooking Great Salt Pond. This inn overs stunning views from all directions. This has to be the most glorious porch on the island to sit and watch hundreds of boats in New Harbor come and go. This is a prime example of Block Island's historic Victorian architecture. The 1661 Inn oversees the bookings here. The Narragansett Inn also will provide a venue for your gathering; such as receptions and rehearsal dinners. Rooms at Payne’s Harbor View Inn on Block Island feature water views, private decks, antique furnishings and whirlpool baths. Stonebeach is an outdoor wedding and special event site. The late 1800's farmhouse overlooks the sea. We offer spacious lawns and spectacular views for your wedding or special event. Stonebeach accommodates up to 200 guests. The Sullivan House is Block Island’s best place to stay for seaside elegance, historic charm and fine cuisine. Set on a 26 acre peninsula, surrounded by the ocean, The Sullivan House is the perfect place to relax, take in the sunset and enjoy your time on Block Island. Our six guest rooms blend antique décor with modern comfort. Guests enjoy our majestic wrap-around porch, the elegance of our Cypress Dining Room, and the relaxed vibe of the Snug, our lounge. The Sullivan House is a much-admired architectural gem. It was built in 1904 for Col. LU Maltby, the owner of the Continental Hotel in Philadelphia. In 1929, he sold the house to Cornelius Sullivan. Sullivan was a Wall Street lawyer and his wife, Mary Quinn Sullivan, was an artist and art teacher in the New York City public schools. In 1993, The Sullivan House was lovingly restored by Ellen Ball O’Brien whose grandfather, Simon Ray Ball, built the house in 1904. The Sullivan House continues as a family business. The Sullivan House commands unsurpassed views of the Atlantic Ocean and Great Salt Pond. Each room features an ocean view, four-poster bed, and private bath. Private, yet walking-distance to the beach and town.
